Capturing memories to last generations

I have always had a love for photography, but throughout my life I have taken photos more as a means of preserving personal memories than as a serious hobby. As a mom, I recorded milestones, events, and physical changes throughout my children's growing years.

It wasn't until I bought my first digital camera that I came to realize that my love of photography was, in fact, a passion. My husband and kids might call it an obsession! I almost always have my camera with me wherever I go, watching for the opportunity to capture that "once in a lifetime" photograph.

As a photographer, I feel blessed to live in an area that is so abundant with natural backdrops. On the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State, I never run out of photographic opportunities. Both the waterfront and the mountainous areas have magnificent natural backdrops for creating eye-catching portraits. I have many spots that I utilize when doing outdoor portraits.

I have won several awards at local exhibits and competitions. I have recently taken a hiatus from my persuit of a degree in Multimedia Communications at Peninsula College to do foster-parenting with my husband and to devote more time to my photography.
